Last week I hinted that I had been stuck at home, well it's because I got Covid. The worst of it was a runny nose and some throat discomfort. I was the only one in the home that got it, so I had to practice isolating myself not only from my fiance, but our cat too.
When this thing first came out, there were reports that cats could catch Covid, and possibly die from it. I had known one case, where an entire family had it, and gave it to there cat, and it passed.

So knowing this information, I made sure to stay away from our Topsy for the entire week, which was difficult task in itself. Topsy loves being on my lap as a previous video demonstrates, she also loves to sleep in our bed.
Both those things did not happen the week I had Covid. I slept in the bedroom alone, and only came out for meals. The funny thing was, that I also think she knew something was up. Even when the door to the room was opened, she never went in.
In fact Sunday I tested negative, and started to act a little normal. By the afternoon she saw that I was on the couch, and came to lay on my lap. However even though the door was opened to the bedroom last night, she never came.
It was only when I woke up, and turned the TV on did I hear her enter the room. She entered cautiously walking around at first. Then she popped on the bed, but only staying in the corner.
"Life back to normal," Topsy said.
Finally she made her way to me, and took her normal spot in the bed. Too bad it was time to get up lol. Not sure why I am telling you all the whole story, but as a relatively new cat owner, I am still learning on the job.
Are cats in general smart animals, I am convinced, if not, mine sure is. She knew something was wrong last week, and I couldn't be more proud of her, and her behavior. Have any of you had to deal with a similar situation? If so, please leave me a comment below. How did you handle it, and how was your cat?
