So if you all have been reading my previous posts you know this all started with a couple of videos starring my cats. From that I started receiving videos from friends, and then I started recreating videos from others, and adding my own touch.
When recreating videos, I only do it if I think I can make them better, and usually the idea needs to come to me right on the spot as I am watching. Today's blog post is about a video I didn't expect much from, but it quickly became my second highest viewed video on Instagram.
The video below is one of those corny videos that I am sure you have come across before. No matter what he does the poor guy keeps getting hit in the head. I didn't like the sound that was used in the original, so I changed it.
The original had some kind of techno music, but I think that's the Creator's slogan. I took one look at this video, and immediately thought clown music. So I replaced the music, with the clown stuff added a silly smiley face to the top, and a tag that read "When it's just not your day."
Nearly 4900 views later and 213 likes. It is my second highest viewed video on Instagram. Who knew a corny video would do so well. If anything I made it even more corny with my edits lol.
The original however has 87 million views, but the Creator also has 2.9 million subscribers, so that has a lot to do with it. In comparison I only have 28 followers on Instagram, but got nearly 5000 views.
His subscribers make up 3% of the views, while my followers make up less than 1% of my views. So if you look at it that way, my video on Instagram was slightly more popular than his on YouTube.
