I was going to continue to write about my short journey of making Reels & Shorts, but that will have to be put on hold. Today is a holiday. Yup, National Pets Day, and if you are a pet owner like me, I hope you are enjoying the day with your pet.
Bike Fail post will have to wait, since I already created a Reel for today without even realizing it. I created a 6 pic Reel of my cat Philly with a trending sound, that I'll explain later. After I created the Reel, my fiance tagged me in a post with hashtag Happy National Pet Day. So of course I went back to my Reel, and edited with the same hashtag.
Now as for the sound here are a couple of examples of it: The Original (2.5 million views), Example 2 (157k views), Example 3 (65k views). I would be happy with half of the lowest total from these 3 videos, maybe someday.
Let me know what you think compared to the other examples above. My boy is always looking for attention, so finding 6 pictures of him posing on my phone wasn't too hard to do. The hardest thing was timing.
Timing has a lot to do with a successful Reel or Short, when adding music or sound. Some videos you can get away with not timing correctly, but for others timing is what makes the video funny. In fact some of my most successful videos were all about timing, here are a couple of samples
#1 (over 1400 views) after I edited the music to go along with scene. #2 (over 2600 views), the same exact video on Instagram didn't even get 50 views, and I used the same music. The one difference was the timing of that music, here is the Instagram Video.
Again I hope everyone is enjoying there National Pet Day, let me know how you are celebrating with your pet? Leave me comments below, and even pictures of your special pet whether he/she is a dog, cat, or snake. Let me see some love.
