So as we continue on my journey to create fun short videos, when I look back at my first several, the bike trick fail comes to mind. I came across this video on Instagram (Original Video), and thought I could do better.
When I decide to alter someone else's video, I always give them credit in my description, but I only alter videos, if I believe I can make them better. In the case of the bike fail, it was funny, but I believe the sound had nothing to do with that.
So first I posted the video on YouTube with a sound I had used in another video, but didn't like how that video came out, so I deleted from my channel. Not sure why, I chose this sound, and at the beginning it really didn't take off.

I remember when I posted the video, the feeling of disappointment that the views weren't coming in as expected. So I decided to post it on Instagram with a trending sound that wasn't available on YouTube.
I posted it, timed it perfectly, and got ready for bed. In the few mins. I was away from my phone, the video took off. It was already well over 1000 views, and the likes were piling up. Before this video, that was the one the eluding me, I had never seen so many likes in such a short amount of time.
Those views and likes continued to come in for days and weeks. To this day it still is my highest viewed and liked video (8819 views 364 likes). My second highest video on Instagram isn't even over 4,000 views, and there isn't another video that has more than 200 likes on Instagram. There is only one video on YouTube that compares, but I'll talk all about that one on another post.
As far as YouTube goes, eventually my YouTube video did end up skying to well over 4,000 views and 70 likes. It is my second highest viewed video on YouTube, so it goes to show you sometimes the video itself is all you need to find success.
As far as the original goes it still much more popular than my 2 videos, in fact the likes (285k) alone easily surpass my views combined. I still believe in my heart, my Instagram video is much funnier, but the original creator has a much larger audience, so I believe that plays a huge part.
Tell me what you think, leave a comment below. I am interested to see, which of the 3 videos you all think is the best.
